Vilius Šapoka appointed as Chairman of the Commission
10/12/2009 | OtherOn 10 of December, 2009, the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania upon the submission of the President appointed Vilius Šapoka as Chairman of the Lithuanian Securities Commission. Before this Vilius Šapoka has held the position of Deputy Chairman in charge of risk management and trading surveillance.
V. Šapoka has been working as Commissioner since 2006; and in 2007 he was appointed as Deputy Chairman. Before this Vilius Šapoka had been working in the department of Financial Markets of Ministry of Finance. V. Šapoka has Master’s degree in Economics.
The new chairman of the Commission, talking about his work priorities, mentioned the necessity to improve the pension accumulation system and the quality of the investment services as well as to continue the modernization of the Commission.
